Eero Aarnio is one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. He became very famous after introducing his fiberglass Ball and Pastil chairs in the 1960s. The production of these great classics has been going on for decades, even today.

Aarnio's career as a designer has spanned over 45 years. Aarnio's design is characterized by playful, reduced shapes and bright colors. In addition, his designs seek economically sustainable solutions, both from the point of view of the owners of his design objects and production technologies.

In recent years, Aarnio's scope for creative productivity has only widened. Every year, Aarnio designs trendy and new interior decorative objects, furniture, lighting and textiles. He has been awarded internationally for his superb creations. These awards include the International Design Award from AIID (American Institute of Interior Designers) for his Pastil chair in New York in 1968, the Finland Award in 2005 by the Finnish Ministry of Education, and the Design Award Compasso d'Oro for its Trioli chair in Italy in 2008.

Many of Aarnio's works can be found in the world's most prestigious museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, MoMA in New York and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
