It was during the 1940s – when the Eames multiplied experiments to develop the molded plywood technology – that the

Plywood mobiles

were born: for their designers, they constituted recreational and playful breaks. Suspended for a long time from the ceiling of their Californian apartment, they have never been commercialised until today.
