Darkly mirror
Nick Ross

To design the Darkly mirror, Nick Ross was inspired by an anecdote from the Stone Age, during which some historians believe that small round ceramic bowls filled with water were used as mirrors. “The fact that this theory cannot be proven adds to the mystery of the object. Is it a new object, or an old one reinvented? »

Nick Ross

Nick Ross (1986) is a Scottish-Swedish designer currently living and working in Stockholm. In Scotland, he studied product design at Grays School of Art in Aberdeen, then moved to Stockholm, where he continued his education in interior architecture and furniture design, taking a master's degree at Konstfack ( University College of Arts, Crafts and Design) and in 2013. Nick founded his own studio in 2014.

His research focuses on the complex repertoire of history, especially ancient history, where he finds the factors with which to interpret the relationship between the user and contemporary design. Using storytelling as a pretext and applying an ever-critical approach, Nick Ross is interested in investigating facts and events that have determined specific cultural balances; each project comes from the desire to create ideal or real bridges between today's society and that of the past.
