A celebration of nature and materiality, Anderssen & Voll's new outdoor collection, Ville, embraces outdoor living with a combination of solidity and softness.
A new family of products designed for &Tradition, Ville features chairs, armchairs, tables, stools and benches, each piece meticulously crafted to invite users to experience moments of outdoor comfort.
“When we design, we are motivated by the idea of making beautiful things with a clear idea.” explain Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll.

The initial vision of the essence of Ville was captured in the very first sketch of the chair, which then guided subsequent design decisions and the expansion of the collection. Through extensive 1:1 modeling and the exploratory use of materials such as cardboard and paper in their workshop, Anderssen & Voll refined the angles, proportions and overall ergonomics of each piece over time.
Ville's exploration of materials plays an essential role in its functionality and visual identity. Each piece in the collection rests on a sleek steel frame, giving it a solid, sturdy base.Â
Incorporating the use of wood, Anderssen & Voll's signature material, the tabletop and bench seat are crafted from teak to provide a warm surface. The flexible seat and back of the chair and armchair are made from polyester webbing that adapts to body temperature, guaranteeing comfort whatever the climate.
Finally, compared to a firm, warm handshake, the chair's wooden armrests welcome users to rest in the open air while creating a subtle sense of visual cohesion.

The collection is characterized by its emphasis on durability. Untreated teak, a natural and robust material, stands up well to the elements, and the solid steel structure is protected against corrosion. The set is also designed to be disassembled, repaired and renovated, to create outdoor pieces that stand the test of time while aging gracefully.
Each product in the collection is available in warm black or bronze green - hues chosen by the designers to complement the earth tones found in soil, grass and foliage. The chairs are stackable up to 8-high for easy storage, making them an excellent choice for reception areas or storage in residential environments.
For those looking for extra support, a cushion can be added. Made from a neutral-toned textile composed of 50% recycled, water-repellent acrylic fabric, the cushions are designed to add another layer of materiality and comfort to the seats.
