Thorvald is a collection of outdoor furniture designed by Space Copenhagen for &Tradition in homage to Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770-1844), a famous neoclassical sculptor from Copenhagen.
The collection is inspired by the steel seats in the Thorvaldsen Museum, built in 1848 next to Christiansborg Palace in the Danish capital. The result is modern, elegant design furniture that reflects the romantic aesthetics of the Nordic 19th century.
The founders of Space Copenhagen: "Design is about emotions and intuition. Many of us live in cities, in a modern world defined by a dynamic lifestyle and speed, where connection with the environment and the seasons is becoming increasingly important to our physical and mental well-being.
For the collection, it was essential to find the right balance between the tangible, easy functionality. And the intangible, the dreamy, the more poetic features".
The Thorvald collection includes a stackable chaise longue, armchair and occasional table, as well as complementary café, dining and occasional tables in various sizes.
The Thorvald series is available in Warm Black, Bronze Green and Ivory. Seat cushions and cushions are available - colored or neutral.

Space Copenhagen
Founded in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio working in multiple disciplines ranging from furniture, lighting and objects to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants worldwide.
