Erik Ole Jørgensen

Erik Ole Jørgensen was a Danish furniture architect, originally trained as an upholsterer. Stricken with polio, he was admitted to Frederiksberg Hospital after the war. He spent a lot of time painting watercolors, which helped him develop his sense of color and color combinations.

Years later, he began training as a furniture architect and, in 1948, passed his final exam at the School of Arts and Crafts. Throughout his career, he has designed furniture and fabrics. His simple, functional furniture makes him one of Denmark's leading furniture designers. One of his most famous pieces is this series of sofas, originally designed for FDB Møbler.
