With its soft curves, the Maluma Pendant Lamp designed by the Japanese designer Fumie Shibata is a 2021 creation imbued with poetry and serenity. Its hand-blown frosted glass shade is articulated on a matching pendant. First collaboration between Fumie Shibata and Fritz Hansen, the Maluma Pendant Light is both discreet and present, delicate and modern.Â
Maluma is available in three colors: pale pink, dark plum and earthy moss.Â

Japanese designer born in 1965 and based in Tokyo, Fumie Shibata graduated from Musashino Art University. After working for a large manufacturer of electrical products, she founded her own studio, Design Studio S, in 1994. Drawing inspiration from industrial design, her design is aimed at different fields, from small everyday electronic objects, through creations for capsule hotels and their specific constraints, to highly technological objects intended for healthcare establishments.
Now a professor at Musashino Art University, Fumie Shibata is the author of the book "Forms within Forms" in which she traces her development as a freelance designer. Design Studio S has received numerous awards of excellence such as the iF Gold Award, the Design for Asia Top, Culture and the Gold Awards. Fumie Shibata also chaired the selection committee for the Good Design Awards 2018-2019.Â
