With its very long black cable that traces clear geometric lines in the air, the String Light Pendant offers an architectural and spectacular way to structure the space. The geometric lines that intertwine throughout the room give a strong graphic impact. Michael Anastassiades, a Cypriot designer based in London, talks about his source of inspiration: « When I travel by train, I always see these electric cables through the window. The way they connect to the pylons is so beautiful and poetic and yet they divide the landscape, I wanted to bring that effect in interior architecture. »

Stretched from wall to wall, suspended from the ceiling or fixed to the corners of a room: the long cable can be placed according to your inspiration. This suspension is delivered with 5 hooks to fix wherever you want to place the cable. The cable ends with a ground plug. The possibilities of structuring the space using the cable are unlimited so the String Light pendant is delivered with a manual which contains a multitude of installation ideas. An application for smartphones and tablets also provides suggestions.

This lamp is equipped with an adjustable switch with soft touch technology. A second version can be regulated wirelessly (turned on/off or varied in light intensity) using the application Flos Control® for Android or iOS.

Michael Anastassiades

Michael Anastassiades

Michael Anastassiades joined his design agency in London in 1994. The Cypriot-born designer studied industrial design and engineering at the Royal College of Arts and Imperial College London. Its lamps, mirrors and other products range between industrial design, sculpture and decorative arts. Deceptively simple, his works are meticulously done and inspired by his studies of civil engineering and industrial design.

Anastassiades is particularly famous for its lighting fixtures, which represent 80% of the projects entrusted to its agency. Sparkling surfaces mingle with simple geometric shapes such as tubes, oblong and spherical shapes, to articulate architectural spaces. The designer has often chosen to use reflective materials such as glass and bronze that float independently and interact with the surrounding space.
