With its slightly Mexican feel, the Carmel table collection was born of OEO Studio's travels along the American Pacific coast. It introduces a new material to the Gubi universe - ceramics - which provides an explosion of colour and Californian energy.
Three sizes and four vibrant, saturated colours are available. All share a rounded, pebble-like shape, a unique hand-crafted look and a strong sense of individuality.
The smallest table is available in Rock Red and Pacific Blue. The medium size is available in Clam White, and the largest in Midnight Black.
Unlike other materials that can be made uniform and perfect, single-fired Italian stoneware makes every table unique. The finishing coat is applied when the ceramic is still in a semi-dry state, pulverised by hand and fired for several hours in kilns at 1,250°C. The result is a high-gloss glaze that creates a magnificent play of light and enhances the colour.
The black and white versions are enriched with crystals randomly distributed in the paint.
The tops rest on matt black powder-coated galvanised steel legs with a slightly oversized H-shape.

We have developed masterful skills in taking a brand and bringing it to the fore. We strive to create products that can last for generations for their exceptional qualities and aesthetics. Finally, we strongly believe in craftsmanship, tactile materials and lived experience when creating meaningful products and moods,” says Thomas Lykke.
