Gubi – Mobilier et Luminaires design Danois
Sejour lounge chair GamFratesi, 2019

The Sejour lounge chair was created by the Danish-Italian designer duo GamFratesi, famous creators of the Beetle collection for the Danish brand Gubi. Its shape is inspired by the Victorian era 'slipper chair' and steeped in the tradition of mid-century Scandinavian design.

With its curved lines, the SEJOUR lounge chair has a deep and generous seat and a very enveloping concave backrest. Ideal for a moment of relaxation, reading in a calm, comfortably installed space, or for a moment with friends. This lounge chair with an imposing and delicate look will appeal to a wide choice of interiors, both public and private: hotel hall, waiting room, private lounge, bedroom ...

The SEJOUR lounge chair is fully covered in fabric or leather, from major brands such as Kvadrat, Gabriel, Backhausen, Ca-Mo or Sørensen. It is available in 3 metal base finishes, with or without armrests.

GamFratesi

GamFratesi

Born in Copenhagen (Denmark) in 1975, Stine Gam holds a degree in architecture and a master's degree in Furniture Design. Enrico Fratesi is an Italian born in 1978. After studying architecture, he obtained a master's degree in Industrial Design.

Gam and Fratesi gained experience in several architectural firms in Japan and Scandinavia before opening their own design studio in 2006. Their firm is based in Copenhagen, although Gam and Fratesi are constantly on the move between Italy and Denmark for the development and the research of new projects.

The language of GamFratesi develops as a fusion between tradition and renewal, in an experimental approach on materials and techniques. With their dual tradition, Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi design on the basis of classic Danish classic craft-based furniture, incorporating an Italian approach to the typically conceptual project. The results are projects that reflect tradition while incorporating stories, symbols and associations, often expressed through minimalist language. GamFratesi aims to create products that clearly illustrate the process and techniques that created it, reflecting a persistent exploration of the line between harmony and discord.

GamFratesi has received important awards: Elle Decoration International (EDIDA) design award as International Young Designer of the Year 2013, Guest of Honor Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2014, Sélection Compas en Or / ADI, Nomination Best Designer Icon Design Award 2014, Prix Vico Magistretti by De Padova, Good Design Award by Chicago Atheneum Museum of Architecture, Best Danish Designer 2012 by Bolig Magasin, 'Walk the Plank award 2009’ and Best Danish designer 2009 by RUM.

Their work has been presented in numerous exhibitions, at the Milan Triennale, the Museum of Art and Design in Copenhagen, the Trapholt Kolding Art Museum, the Litta Palace, Shanghai and as part of Mindcraft group exhibitions in Milan, at the Danish Embassy in Tokyo, and in the design category at the Miami Art Basel.
