Wonder sofa Space Copenhagen, 2019

The Wonder modular sofa was designed by designers Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou from the Space Copenhagen studio. Its fairly classic general look is accompanied by an out-of-the-ordinary backrest, designed as a thick cushion straddling the structure of the backrest.

This design gives the Wonder sofa a unique look, both firm and inviting to relaxation. Remarkably comfortable, Wonder also gets a practical side because the cushions always stay perfectly in place.

The Wonder sofa is also perfectly modular, since an infinity of shapes is possible by combining the same three modules, from the simple pouf to the large corner sofa.

Wonder is available in a wide range of fabrics and leathers. The cushion covers can be removable (optional).

Playful exuberance meets measured simplicity

The Wonder Sofa’s plump cushions are softly folded over the clean, square lines of the backrest and attached with the ingenious feature of hidden magnets.

This softens the relationship between front and back and creates a sense of relaxed sophistication and comfort in which playful exuberance meets measured simplicity.

Comfortable

The dimensions of the Wonder Sofa make it a large sofa perfect for relaxing, while avoiding unintentionally sliding down into an uncomfortable horizontal position.

The Wonder Sofa’s functional backrest is designed to offer ergonomic support for contented sitting over long periods of time.

Space Copenhagen

Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio that works across multiple disciplines, from furniture, lighting and refined objects to art installations, art direction and interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants all over the world.

"We call our approach Poetic Modernism."

The ambition is to forge new paths by balancing opposites — classic and modern, industrial and organic, sculptural and minimal, light and shade. Duality and contrast. Curiosity as a fundamental human condition.

The studio’s intuitive approach embodies designs that are distinctively shaped by the given circumstances, functional needs, and a fundamental interest in human behavior. It is a sense of and belief in slow aesthetic that centers around quality and longevity.

Space Copenhagen has created lauded furniture pieces for some of the world’s leading manufacturers such as GUBI, Stellar Works, Fredericia Furniture, &Tradition and Mater. In addition, Space Copenhagen continuously substantiates their roster of high-end interiors at an international level, following, among others, their award-winning design for 11 Howard hotel in New York, The Stratford opening in London Spring 2019, along with already acclaimed destination restaurants Geranium and the first Noma in Copenhagen.
