Kaleido & Ellipse trays – Hay

The Kaleido tray collection is available in a wide range of colours, sizes and shapes. They can be used to organize, store, display or serve small items.

Its cousin, the Ellipse tray collection, offers a variation of the same typology, with rounded edges and a softer aesthetic.

Clara von Zweigbergk: “I wanted these trays to be both practical and decorative, because it is nicer for a functional object to be aesthetic. They should also be affordable, so that one can buy one piece and then another later, using them to create new colour combinations.

I was thrilled when I presented the 9 colors and 5 shapes to Mette Hay and she approved them all from the start! Because then the product has become much more powerful as a series of objects that can interact with each other, that was smart. "

Clara von Zweigbergk‘s background as a graphic designer and origamist is clearly evident in her Kaleido tray collection for HAY, where her intuitive sense of colour combination manifests itself in a myriad of shapes and shades. This series of steel, geometrically-shaped trays can be used individually or stored inside each other to create functional and imaginative constellations.

Ellipse trays

The tray is part of the Ellipse collection designed by designer Clara von Zweigbergk for HAY. The designer combines a sense of colour with a simple oval shape to create a series of elegant, characteristic coasters. The coasters are made of pressed steel and have a practical rim around the edge. You can use them individually or combine them with each other.
