Marimekko leather bags are made from top-of-the-range leathers that are particularly supple and resistant.
They are divided into a permanent collection and a seasonal collection, the latter often echoing the colors of seasonal clothing collections.
The Imprint bags are manufactured in Abruzzo, Italy, with hand-finished details. The bags’ inner lining is 50% recycled cotton that was printed in Marimekko's printing mill in Helsinki, Finland.
The Imprint bag series represents meticulous attention to every detail in the creation of a leather bag, from material sourcing to design and manufacturing.
The Imprint series features a leather manufacturing milestone that we are especially proud of—traceability. At Marimekko, we only accept leather from animals bred for food production, and each piece of leather used in Imprint bags can be traced back to a specific Scandinavian farm.
The beauty of Imprint bags stems in part from the natural feel of the leather, which is achieved through a less-coated surface. Slight irregularities in texture and color are characteristic features of leather, making each piece distinct.

The Gratha collection counts the classic Gratha (15x22cm) and its baby sister - the Baby Gratha (15x15cm).
The bags are made of soft nappa leather, a full grain leather that develops a patina during its lifetime.
They have a zipper closure and a small zipper pocket on the inside. The jacquard shoulder strap is made of recycled polyester and is adjustable and detachable.

The Gratha shoulder bag series is made of quilted leather and features the Unikko stitched motif. The supple nappa leather of this series develops a patina over time.
Gratha bags feature an adjustable, removable shoulder strap in recycled polyamide, with a Unikko pattern in jacquard mesh.
The Gratha bag closes with a zipper featuring a Unikko pull tab and a zippered pocket inside.
The inside of the bag is lined.

The Matkuri bag - an icon in the Marimekko bag collection.
Initially available only in cotton Canvas, it is today available also in leather, in two perfectly adjusted hand-bag-sizes.
The leather family counts the Milli Matkuri bag and its smaller version, the Pikkuinen Matkuri bag.
The Matkuri bags are made of full grain leather that develops a patina during its lifetime.
They have an adjustable and detachable shoulder strap, two handles and a zipper closure. The outside has a small handle on one side and a pocket on the other. The inside is lined and has one pocket.
