Unikko was created by Maija Isola in 1964 and has since become an international icon of print design. The founder of Marimekko, Armi Ratia, believed that it was not possible to faithfully capture the true essence of real flowers in print, which is why floral prints were earlier excluded from Marimekko collections. 

So, Maija Isola designed Unikko to be an abstraction of a flower rather than a photorealistic rendition. Today, Unikko is a powerful emblem of joy and creativity, seamlessly integrated into Marimekko´s design identity.

The Myy plissée skirt has a relaxed, A-line fit and it is made of dense recycled polyester in the Unikko pattern.

The Sivuta button-up cupro shirt has a relaxed, straight fit and it features the Mini Unikko pattern.

The trousers have an elastic waistband The shirt has a concealed button closure, and a back yoke seam with pleats. The cuffed sleeves have button closures and the hem has a slight curved cut.

The Oanet cupro trousers have a relaxed fit and long, wide trouser legs, and they feature the Mini Unikko pattern.

The Taittuen turtleneck has a straight, skinny fit.

The turtleneck features the Piirto Unikko pattern, which is jacquard knit in a shimmering yarn.

The Vilina underlayer turtleneck is made of certified merino wool rib, and it has a straight, skinny fit.

The sheer turtleneck features the Unikko pattern, and it has raw cut edges at the cuffs and hemline.

The Valu knitted wool pullover has a relaxed, straight fit.
This product contains 50% certified wool and 50% recycled wool.

The pullover features the jacquard knit Unikko pattern. The pullover has a double-ribbed O-neck and wide ribbing at the sleeve ends and hemline.
