SERPENTINE LIGHT pendant

SERPENTINE LIGHT pendant

The Serpentine Light by Swedish design studio Front is a simple yet complex construction whose basic element is a sheet of paper subjected to different twists and orientations.

The contrast of the almost translucent white and the dark lines creates an endless spiral effect inside which light flows and reflects in all directions.

The Serpentine pendant lamp will ideally hang in the center of a high-ceilinged room, in an entryway or above a dining table.

A poetic presence diffusing a comfortable light.

SERPENTINE Carpet

Like the Serpentine suspension, the Serpentine carpet is the result of folding paper to create organic and twisted shapes that evoke a mathematical vortex, in which variations in color intensity add a three-dimensional effect.

Sofia Lagerkvist and Anna Lindgren are the members of the Swedish design group Front.

Their works are based on common discussions, explorations and experiments and they are all involved in the projects from initial ideas to the final product.

Front design objects often communicate a story to the observer about the design process, about the material it is made of or about conventions within the design field.

In their work, they have assigned part of the making of design to animals, computers or machines.

They have made a constantly changing interior, created objects with explosions, robotic furniture and a range of furniture inspired by their fascination with magic.
