With a solid base in glossy powder-coated steel, Midst is a generous, round dining table for everyday use or more formal occasions, where friends and family can gather without hierarchy around a centre large enough to accommodate dishes and bottles. The tabletop is available in two finishes, solid oak or veneer covered with a warm linoleum.Â

"Midst Table is an encounter between the poetic and the functional. The name refers to the centre of the table as a point of gravity, while its round shape cancels out hierarchy - there is no tabletop. Its shape naturally draws us to its centre, encouraging a meeting of minds and eyes. Our design process was one of subtraction and refinement. The form and construction of the Midst table is inspired by an iconic architectural element, the column, which combines physical stability and constancy with elegance." TAF Studio

TAF Studio
TAF Studio is an architecture and design studio founded by designers Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Ståhlbom. Based in Stockholm, they bring refined design to everyday objects.
On their philosophy: "Our aim is to make ordinary life less ordinary, through subtle but effective changes in the way products look and function. A recurring starting point in our projects is that everyday objects, through their obviousness, can be made singular."
On the new Nordic design: "We believe that the new Nordic design will maintain its relevance and preserve its famous social values. Among other things, the use of wood has always been part of our tradition and we think it is something to be developed."
