Normann Copenhagen is launching a new coffee table with a minimalist look, made entirely from travertine: this original, timeless material is characterized by a distinctive structure and unique patterns.
To avoid unnecessary waste, Edge has been designed to make the most of the way the material is extracted. Travertine is extracted from a quarry, then cut into slabs of varying dimensions. The Edge coffee table is composed exclusively of square travertine slabs of various sizes, assembled in a simple geometric construction. In this way, each slab is used in such a way as to make the most of the material.
The distinctive geometric construction of this table casts fascinating shadows, giving it a dynamic edge. The Edge coffee table is distinguished by its sober, minimalist lines, which are softened by the unique patterns and organic look of its material. In short, this sober design, with its emphasis on material, will find its place in any interior.

Simon Legald
Simon Legald graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. He has worked on the development of numerous products from small to large scale. Legald's designs are the result of an exchange between craft and industry. In his work, he emphasizes the structure of the product, which becomes intrinsic to the design.
"Honesty is what makes a product intelligible and defines its functionality. If you understand the product, then there's no need for explanations. The very purpose of my designs is to be bought and used. So they have to meet functional needs as well as psychological and aesthetic ones. For me, simplicity is what describes the true identity of objects. In my designs, I try not to add superfluous details. All this gives the products a simple, honest expression."
