The Stretch collection features long, solid pine planks that underline the strength, durability and quality of its design. Stripped of all superfluous details, the design focuses on the essentials: Stretch seating has a sober, uncluttered yet welcoming aesthetic. The collection comprises a 40 cm stool, a 160 cm bench and a longer 200 cm bench. All three are made from full-length pine planks of a certain thickness, to highlight the beauty and solidity of this material. Pine's long-lasting, warm glow will become even more beautiful over time. Compared to other, more homogeneous species, pine takes on a beautiful patina, to last a lifetime and age beautifully.
Designer Simon Legald explains: "Solid pine is very durable, and pines grow faster and taller than other tree species. This makes for very long, straight planks. The idea behind Stretch was to showcase pine and highlight the superb natural properties of this material."
The natural wood is treated with a transparent, matt anti-UV varnish to protect it from the sun's rays. This collection offers numerous options to suit a wide variety of interiors: the stool can be used as a side table or bedside table, and the benches will find their place in a long hallway or alongside the table in the dining room.

Legald's designs are the result of an exchange between craft and industry. In his work, he emphasizes the structure of the product, which becomes intrinsic to the design.
"Honesty is what makes a product intelligible and defines its functionality. If you understand the product, then there's no need for explanations. The very purpose of my designs is to be bought and used. So they have to meet functional needs as well as psychological and aesthetic ones. For me, simplicity is what describes the true identity of objects. In my designs, I try not to add superfluous details. All this gives the products a simple, honest expression."
