Having grown up on an island in the Stockholm archipelago, the sea and the rugged island environment are constant companions in Eva Schildt's artistic practice.
Since graduating in furniture and product design from Stockholm's Beckmans College of Design in 2001, Eva Schildt has designed furniture, textiles, packaging and trade show displays. She also works as an interior designer.
Materials and techniques vary; some are handcrafted, others mass-produced.
Inspired by nature, her design, which is often sculptural, has almost always included elements of humor and multi-functionality.
