The Danish company Engelbrechts was founded by Morten Engelbrecht in 1989 and has since developed, produced and marketed exclusive designer furniture for quality-loving users.
The brand works in close collaboration with architects and designers. The brand is particularly famous for the iconic Kevi chair, a design classic from 1958 by Jørgen Rasmussen.
Engelbrechts started as a retail store offering high-end furniture selected from around the world. After a successful start, Morten Engelbrecht expanded the concept to include products developed specifically for Engelbrechts, before moving from retail store to furniture brand with his own product series created by, among others, Erik Magnussen, Jørgen Rasmussen and Anders Hermansen. All of the company's products have in common that they are aesthetic, functional and durable furniture, where everything superfluous is eliminated.
For Engelbrechts founder Morten Engelbrecht, handing over his life's work that he began in 1989 to Montana Furniture was a carefully considered decision.
“It was not an easy decision to pass on what I have built over the last 32 years, but I believe that the two companies and the two products complement each other well. Furthermore, I look forward to working with Joakim Lassen and, above all, to be able to concentrate fully on product development", says Morten Engelbrecht:
"In 1982, when I worked at BoTikken in Hellerup, I helped set up the very first Montana products. I still remember how Peter Lassen himself delivered the shelves in his old Ford Granada with a trailer", concludes Morten Engelbrecht with a smile.
