Atmosfera Outdoor Tables – Gubi

The simple design of the tables maintains a discreet elegance, with a nod to classic references, without being too formal. The table tops are made up of rhythmic and repetitive slats in top quality solid teak, surrounded by a frame made of the same slats, which gives an impression of minimalism. 

The table legs are made up of two vertical slats, joined at a mitre to create an inverted L-shape at each corner. Referencing architectural and maritime design, the unusual design of the legs provides both structural support and visual interest, giving the piece a certain lightness. Each leg protrudes slightly from the surface of the tabletop, ending in a rounded detail that contrasts with the geometric lines of the structure, lending a certain serenity to the design.

The two dining tables - one for six people and the other for eight - and the coffee table follow the same design, with differences in dimensions carefully considered to reflect their functionality. Their calm and linear style matches, accompanies and supports the iconic pieces of the GUBI outdoor collection. With generous leg room, the Atmosfera dining tables combine particularly well with the outdoor variants of the C chair, the Beetle and Bat chairs and the Tropique chair. The use of teak as the sole material allows the tables to define spaces in various indoor and outdoor environments. From an arid Mediterranean garden to a lush tropical setting or a Nordic fjord terrace, their tactile construction blends perfectly into any natural environment. Teak's high tensile strength and tight grain make it an excellent construction wood and a high-quality wood for furniture. It is also rich in natural oils, which makes it inherently resistant to the effects of bad weather and natural wear and tear, and therefore particularly suitable for outdoor furniture. GUBI teak is polished, which brings the natural oils already contained in the wood to the surface, and burnished to produce a rich lustre and uniform colour.

The tables can be left outside, unprotected and untreated all year round, and will develop over time a beautiful uniform silvery grey patina with a characteristic, slightly raised texture. For those who wish to preserve the golden honey tones of the wood, an annual application of oil or sealant is a simple solution - the tables can also be packed flat for winter storage.
