Ferm Living's Bau collection is a line of flower pots and planters dedicated to interior and exterior design. Inspired by the aesthetics of the Bauhaus movement, it features clean lines, geometric simplicity and an industrial approach that celebrates functionality as much as design.

The pieces in the Bau collection are made from powder-coated galvanized steel, making them durable and weather-resistant, ideal for outdoor use on balconies, terraces and gardens. The surface of the objects is often textured with subtle rectilinear striations, adding a tactile and visual dimension reminiscent of the industrial surfaces of the Bauhaus. Pots, for example, rest on raised, criss-crossing structures, creating an aerial effect that highlights the plants and lets you play with heights for dynamic plant compositions.

Available in a range of sizes and sober colors such as black, cashmere or dark green, the collection offers a versatile palette that works equally well in modern and rustic settings.

Designer

Herman Studio was founded in 2012 by the two architects Helle Herman Mortensen and Jonas Herman Pedersen. Their work ranges from textiles, ceramics, lighting and furniture design to interior decoration. One of the hallmarks of their design is their attention to the contours of objects. By working with a distinctive contour for each object, the craftsmanship allows the design to stand out while remaining simple and easily recognizable. Their great passion for design and appreciation of aesthetic principles complement their use of traditional materials and methods. They work in an iterative process between sketches, models and prototypes. Their design process begins with a detailed study of construction methods, an approach that plays a central role throughout the design process. The workshop is therefore an essential part of their studio.
