With its understated design, the Tulip suspension adds a touch of modern simplicity to any space, thanks to its opal-white glass shade that mimics the characteristic petals of a tulip.

Mouth-blown in three layers of glass, the shade provides uniform, glare-free light, while the small opening at the bottom provides downward accent lighting.

The precise suspension in solid brass is designed to blend into the lampshade and form a perfect organic whole.

Marianne Tuxen

Marianne Tuxene (born in 1958) strives to create beautiful experiences with her luminaires, guided by the conviction that light has the power to transform everything. Throughout her career, she has created luminaires and designed lighting solutions in places as diverse as churches, museums, galleries, hotels and airports, both in Denmark and abroad. She has always taken into account the ensemble, the underlying story and the environment in which the lighting is installed.

Tuxen's lighting designs are always based on a specific need. And just as every lighting need is different, so are its lighting designs. Nevertheless, there is a common thread running through his designs in terms of simplicity and logic. The products seem obvious, functional and harmonious in almost any context. She experiments with curves, proportions, materials, surfaces, colors, light and shadow to create luminaires that create the perfect ambience.

Marianne Tuxen has always had a creative streak. Born in the Frederiksberg district of Copenhagen, she discovered a passion for drawing and design at an early age. After high school, Marianne Tuxen went to the United States to study graphic arts and sculpture. On her return to Denmark, she pursued her creative path by enrolling in the School of Architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. During her studies, Marianne Tuxen designed her first lamps, which were already in production before she graduated in 1985.

After graduating, Marianne Tuxen worked on a number of projects for Danish and international companies, before setting up her own lighting design studio in 1988: Tuxen Design. Throughout her career, she has created lamps and lighting that can be found, for example, at Copenhagen Airport, the Novo Nordisk Foundation, the Den Frie Centre for Contemporary Art, the Carlsberg Foundation, the Rockwool Foundation and the Danish Institute in Rome.

In addition to lighting design and interior decoration, Marianne Tuxen has also worked in industrial design for a number of Danish and international companies. Her understanding of light and lighting has earned her design awards and distinctions both in Denmark and abroad.
