Five poufs are design pieces that combine elegance, functionality and a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic.

Design & concept

Five footstools are distinguished by their pentagonal shape, a bold geometry that contrasts with gently rounded edges. According to the designers, this silhouette evokes the ordered lines of ploughed fields, a poetic image that anchors the design in a certain natural simplicity. The creative process emphasized the stitching: the strips of quilted fabric are arranged to “envelop” the shape, creating an effect of dynamic tension between the rigor of the pentagon and the softness of the curves. This attention to detail gives the poufs a rich visual texture and tactile comfort.

Materials & manufacture

Made with an internal wooden structure, Five poufs are upholstered with molded foam to ensure comfort and durability. They are upholstered in high-quality fabrics, often from the renowned Danish company Kvadrat (like the Remix, Steelcut or Divina ranges), renowned for its robust and refined textiles. The feet, discreetly integrated under the base, are also made of wood, offering stability without compromising the sleek aesthetic.

Colors & aesthetic

Available in a wide range of colors (such as gray, blue, black or pink, depending on the collection), Five poufs blend easily into a variety of interiors. The choice of fabrics and shades reflects Muuto's philosophy of combining functionality and personal expression, while remaining true to the heritage of Scandinavian design: simplicity, craftsmanship and timeless beauty.
