Designed in 2005 by Swedish architect Nisse Strinning, they represent a compact, ready-to-use version of the famous String system, launched in 1949. This model stands out for its practicality and versatility, suitable for small spaces as well as more spacious interiors.

Key features

A String Pocket is a complete package comprising two steel wall uprights (often in the shape of metal ladders) and three shelves. Its standard dimensions are 50 cm high, 60 cm wide and 15 cm deep, making it ideal for small spaces. Shelves are available in a variety of materials and finishes: wood (such as walnut, ash or oak) or perforated metal, with colors ranging from neutral tones (white, gray) to bolder options (mustard, taupe, etc.). Each shelf can support up to 25 kg, provided the weight is evenly distributed.

Design and modularity

The String Pocket's minimalist design reflects the Scandinavian aesthetic: clean lines and a lightweight structure that integrates easily into a variety of environments - kitchen, bedroom, living room or even bathroom. Although sold as a complete unit, it remains modular: you can combine several String Pocket units to create customized configurations, in height or width, according to your needs. Accessories such as hooks or bars can also be added to metal versions to enhance its functionality.

Practical applications

In 2020, designers Anna von Schewen and Björn Dahlström revisited the String Pocket by introducing a metal version, retaining the spirit of the original design while exploring new materials. This shelf remains true to the String Furniture philosophy: a balance between form and function, with production still carried out in Sweden to guarantee quality and durability.
