Tom Dixon worked as a creative director for Habitat before founding his own design company in 2002 in partnership with David Begg, with the ambition to renew British design. In 2004, the Swedish investment company Proventus took a majority stake in the young Tom Dixon brand and a group was formed with the classic Finnish company Artek (now property of Vitra).
Both companies were creatively directed by Tom Dixon and under the management of David Begg. This experience reinforced Tom Dixonβs love for Scandinavian design, which has always been an important part of his inspiration (take his S-Chair for example, one of his first designs made in 1987, strongly influenced by Verner Pantonβs System 123).
Today, the Tom Dixon catalogue offers lighting, furniture and accessories for private home and professional spaces.
