The Carl Hansen No 1 BT1001 suspension lamp by the prolific Danes Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup is part of a series of three lamps with simple geometry, including Calot and Confetti.

Created in the late 1960s, the No 1 suspension features a sleek, conical silhouette that's as relevant today as it was 50 years ago.

Available in lacquered steel or polished brass, this timeless piece will complement modernist and contemporary designs thanks to its functional, no-frills form.

Graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in Copenhagen in 1969, Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup began a collaboration that has seen them work together on design projects worldwide for over 20 years. The two men have designed projects ranging from large-scale architecture to lighting, including a series of geometrically inspired lamps that Carl Hansen & Søn recently updated. Throughout their joint career, Bonderup and Thorup have received much recognition and numerous awards.
