Jørgen Gammelgaard

Jørgen Gammelgaard (1938-1991) has been recognized as part of a new era in industrial aesthetics. His award-winning work reflects a simple, refined approach to design and a refreshing vision of minimalism.

Originally trained as a cabinetmaker under the renowned Copenhagen master carpenter AJ Iversen, Gammelgaard worked under Grete Jalk. After studying furniture design with Poul Kjærholm at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, he worked in Arne Jacobsen's studio in the late 1960s.
