Lampes Lari et Lari Mini Karakter – Angelo Mangiarotti

The Lari lamp is composed of a magnificent block of grooved blown glass, halfway between industrial aesthetics and architectural evocations, with something both mechanical and delicate.

The Lari lamp comes in two sizes. The larger can be placed on a table or on the floor. The smaller, battery-powered version can be used wirelessly to embellish a dining table, a shelf or a windowsill.

Lari mini is a portable version of Angelo Mangiarotti's original Lari lamp from 1978. Like the original Lari, the Lari mini is made from a single piece of hand-blown glass, attached to a powder-coated metal base. The mouth-blown glass has a distinctive wavy structure that creates a beautiful, slightly blurred sensation in ambient light.

Lari mini can project its beautiful light in a wide range of environments - from cosy corners in private homes and eye-catching reception desks in the office to subdued candlelit dinners in restaurants.

Lari mini charges via a USB-C cable and goes from zero to full charge in 3.5 to 4 hours. When fully charged, it can provide up to 14 hours of light.

Angelo Mangiarotti

Italian architect, sculptor and designer Angelo Mangiarotti was born in Milan in 1921. Mangiarotti is quoted as saying: “Happiness comes from honesty”. A quote that alludes to his holistic approach to design, rooted in the firm belief that architecture was a practical discipline and industrial design was the expression of refined craftsmanship.

He wanted each individual material to be respected and used appropriately and honestly. Beyond his many architectural feats, Mangiarotti's work includes a wide range of creative projects from sculpture to products and lighting.

Over the course of his career, he has held lecturing positions at several renowned design and architecture schools in Italy and abroad, won numerous design and architecture awards, and his work has been included in exhibitions and collections at some of the world's leading art and design institutions such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan and Gallery MA in Tokyo.
